In addition to core academic classes, middle school students have a handful of enrichment elective classes they can take during the school year. Please review the Course Options appropriate to your grade level, and contact your grade-level counselor with requests and/or questions.
6th Grade Course Options
All 6th grade students are automatically enrolled in the following classes: ELA Block (2 periods), Science, Math, Social Studies (1 semester), PE/Health (1 semester), and one elective choice.
Elective choices for 6th grade students:
- Cadet Band (year)
- Choir (year)
- Elective Rotation (different elective class each quarter)
- Art, Music, Technology, Leadership, Animal Advocates
- students cannot choose which 4 classes they are scheduled into - they are assigned by counselors based on space availability in each class
7th Grade Course Options
7th grade students typically have room in their schedule for 1-2 elective periods per semester. Choosing Art or Technology means you will get a class within this category.
Students should have 3 choices for electives, which will be used to fill the schedule after all core classes have been scheduled.
Elective choices for 7th grade students:
- Concert Band (year)
- Choir (year)
- Yearbook (year)
- Leadership (can be semester or year)
- Art (semester)
- Animal Advocates (semester)
- Technology (semester)
- Video Production (semester)

8th Grade Course Options
8th grade students typically have room in their schedule for 1-2 elective periods per semester. Choosing Art or Technology means you will get a class within this category.
Students should have 3 choices for electives, which will be used to fill the schedule after all core classes have been scheduled.

- Symphonic Band (year)
- Choir (year)
- Spanish 1 (year)
- students have the opportunity to earn high school credit with this class
